Council Tax Support
If you are on a low income, you may be able to reduce the amount of Council Tax you pay.

To qualify for Council Tax Support you must:
- be the Council Tax payer for the property you live in,
- be 18 or over,
- have a low income,
- have under £16,000 in savings and capital (unless in receipt of Pension Credit) and
- not be a full time student

Apply for Council Tax Support using our Online Claim service.
When you apply, you will need to provide us with:
- proof of your identity
- proof of your National Insurance Number
- income and savings proof for all relevant household members
- household circumstances

Applying for or receiving Universal Credit?
When claiming Universal Credit (UC) simply confirm that you want to claim a Council Tax discount. If you do this, there is no need to complete our form. When we receive your details from UC, we will assess your entitlement to Council Tax Support. We will contact you if we need further information.
You will need to apply for Council Tax Support with us if:
- you are moving into East Lindsey and already receive UC
- you made your UC claim and did not ask to claim a Council Tax discount
