We've teamed up with Ophelia Gamble, the Rural Retailer, to deliver our retail support programme Healthy You, Healthy Business.
Delivered by Ophelia, Wendy Walker of Ovy Design, and their team of specialists, Healthy You, Healthy Business supports local retailers to improve the customer experience and increase the use of sales channels, including web, social media and online sales platforms.
Using their years of experience, the team will work with businesses to undertake a diagnostic to identify strengths and weaknesses, creating a tailored plan to take the business forward, offering practical advice and showing how the implementation of a few easy to follow steps can make a tangible and sustainable difference to a business.
Funded by the Reopening High Streets Safely Fund, the programme is the latest initiative launched as part of our Vital and Viable project and ultimately seeks to regenerate the high street, boost local economies and ensure that the towns are thriving and ready for a post-Covid future. The programme has already had a successful pilot roll-out in Alford and Spilsby and will soon be coming to other towns in the District.
About the Team
Ophelia Gamble is The Rural Retailer: Ophelia has been in the retail industry for over 30 years and knows the sector inside out. She has worked from the ground up and has experience in all aspects of the industry. In 2011 Ophelia launched Ophelia's Village Market to support existing high-streets in the East Midlands to increase their local footfall and community engagement. Having worked with many Parish, Town, District and County Councils over the years, Ophelia has honed her very own special style of delivery. Think Mr Motivator meets Mary Portas! Her business, the Rural Retailer, has successfully been running markets in the East Midlands making sure they are Covid compliant and are able to remain open through the most testing of times.
Wendy Walker - Ovy Design: Wendy is a branding specialist and over the last 20 years has built up a successful design agency with a portfolio including many local retail businesses. Wendy likes to work closely with her clients and strongly believes that a professional, clear logo is a vital part of any business no matter what the size. From this logo you then build your brand, or a better description would be your reputation. Your customers must understand what you are selling and what you can do for them. It's essential that your branding is professional and used consistently in order for them to choose your business and become loyal fans.
