Visitor Economy

The East Lindsey District has a strong and growing visitor economy.

Since 2009 the value of the visitor economy in our area has increased from £438m to £824m, with the number of visitor days also increasing year on year.

Visitor Economy - Wolds

As well as the Lincolnshire coast with the popular seaside resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea, Chapel St Leonards and Ingoldmells, we also have the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rolling landscapes and traditional market towns.

We have a clear commitment to support the visitor economy of the area and in particular extending the season to help create more year-round employment.

We run a visitor website for the Lincolnshire Wolds - Love Lincolnshire Wolds (opens new window) ; and support a website that promotes the coastal resorts - Visit Lincs Coast (opens new window)

The Wolds Destination Plan aims to maximise the 'untapped potential' of the Lincolnshire Wolds as a visitor destination.
The Framework has been created to formally document the importance of tourism to East Lindsey and our commitment to the visitor economy.
