About the Council

Our headquarters are at the Hub, Mareham Road, Horncastle. The Council has around 370 staff and 55 Councillors.

In recent years we have undergone a major transformation and, as a result, we are now recognised as one the best performing Councils in the Country. This has been achieved through close attention to sound financial and people management, a curious mind, a genuine interest and focus in customer care and a desire to achieve continuous improvement and efficiency in everything we do.

In the face of budget challenges in recent years, we have worked hard to ensure we are able to continue to provide high performing services. We are looking at new ways of generating income, taking advantage of digital technologies and constantly reviewing our services to identify new and more efficient ways of working.

We have already achieved positively and successfully in many areas and continued success depends on the us working collaboratively with our partners.

In October 2021, we entered into the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership - a ground-breaking partnership between ourselves, Boston Borough Council and South Holland District Council 

This Partnership sees the three Councils share a Corporate Management Team, whilst continuing to retain their own identity and being accountable to their local communities, however, sharing expertise, teams and resources allows us to make significant savings.

Along with our partners Boston Borough and South Holland, we also own Public Sector Partnership Services Ltd - a company that provides Customer Services, Finance, HR, Revenues and Benefits and IT services to the three Councils. We also work closely with Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture - a charitable trust that provides, cultural, leisure and health services to the people of East Lindsey on our behalf.
