Born in Skegness, Chris went to the local grammar school before studying Business Studies at Sheffield Polytechnic. He went on to qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant working for Fogarty's, LinPac and British Fuels before moving to Butlin's and settling back in Skegness for the last 30 years. He tries to promote the coastal strip and the Visitor Economy as a whole, representing both on the board of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and chairing the Greater Lincolnshire Visitor Economy Board. He is also a member of the Visit East Lincolnshire Destination BID Board, Coastal Developers Forum and sits on the Advisory Council for the Skegness Academy.
