Fulstow Parish Council

Fulstow Parish Council received £1,000 from the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Parish Council Grants Scheme.

The funding was given for the following:

Event 1 Afternoon tea in the village hall

The Parish Council invited all villagers who are 70 years and older to come along for an afternoon tea party to enjoy a much needed get together, to chat, reminisce and catch up with friends. In Fulstow they have over 100 villagers who are aged 70 and over and they have found the last 2 years of restrictions very difficult, they have spoken about the loneliness they felt and of the effects that spending less time with family and friends had on their mental health. The Parish Council hoped that an event of this type would assist in encouraging residents to return to socialising and help improve their emotional and mental health in general.

Event 2 Family Fun Jubilee Party

The second event held was a 'Family Fun Jubilee Party' which took place on the village green and village hall.  The party was open to all with an emphasis on all generations having fun and celebrating this historic occasion together.  Some of the plans included are bouncy castles, races, tombola, BBQ, face painting and a competition for the best dressed royal carriage.
