Teenage Market returning to Louth later this month
Published on 17 October 2023
The popular Teenage Market is returning to Louth on Saturday 21 October, 9am to 4pm, providing young traders from the local area a unique opportunity to showcase their products and try market trading for free.
The Teenage Market is a growing national initiative set up by teenage brothers Joe and Tom Barratt in Stockport to transform town and city centres with the creativity of young people.
The energy, diversity and vibrancy of the young people who take part in Teenage Markets is helping to breathe life back into high streets, town centres and market areas across the country, and to help showcase the business owners of the future.
The traders in attendance will be predominately from the town and surrounding area, covering a wide range of different products and services:
- ZEC Crafts: A range of different crafts such as crochet, wood pieces, paintings and embroidery
- Upholstered Unicorn: Re-upholstery, refurbishment and re-covering services for both modern and traditional upholstery. Ranging from scatter cushions and dining chairs to sofas.
- Stitch N Petals: Crochet clothes, decor, plushies and flowers as well as making jewellery such as earrings and necklaces.
- Paper Crafts: Origami and quilling cards and pictures
- Natures Promise: A variety of eco-friendly, spiritual and wellbeing products including crystals, grids, incense, wax melts, books, affirmation cards, journals, bottles, yoga mats, reusable cutlery, homemade ware.
- Miss Quirky Dermy: Anthropomorphic taxidermy
- MidnightsMoon: Spiritual gifts and crystals
- Handmade Jewellery by Meghan-Lillie
- Cursed Craft Company: Everything Spooky/horror home decor and accessories
- CS Smithing: Hand forged products
- Anything But Ordinary: Slogan T shirts and goods
As well as the Teenage Market, 'The Shenanigans', a pair of comical artists, will be around on the day for people to interact and take photographs with, alongside musical entertainment from DJ Lewis Baker.
Councillor Adam Grist, portfolio holder for Market Towns and the Rural Economy, said: "It's fantastic to see Teenage Markets returning regularly to our towns as it has such a positive impact for our young people, providing them a platform to show off their talents and creativity.
"Following the brilliant turnout and reception at our inaugural Louth Food and Drink Festival earlier this month, I hope lots of residents will join us to welcome these young entrepreneurs and explore some of the great products they have on offer.
"This great initiative helps to provide our market towns with new vibrancy and ideas, now and in the future, and can inspire and enable the next generation of market traders in East Lindsey."
