East Lindsey Dementia Friendly Community
We are working with partners in order to make East Lindsey a more Dementia Friendly Community
"A dementia-friendly community is a city, town or village where people with dementia are understood, respected and supported....Dementia-friendly communities are vital in helping people live well with dementia and remain a part of their community." (Alzheimer's UK)
In East Lindsey we have a network of individuals and organisations who are working together to improve things for people living with dementia. The priorities of the East Lindsey Dementia Friendly Community are to:
- Ensure that information relating to dementia is available and shared effectively.
- Improve the support, and access to support, for people living with dementia and their carers
- Increase training and awareness about living with dementia across sectors and in the community.
- Organise a range of activities locally, including ones for people living with dementia and ones to raise awareness.
We have four dementia cafe's in East Lindsey and a number of other social groups that are dementia friendly
