East Lindsey Dementia Friendly Community

We are working with partners in order to make East Lindsey a more Dementia Friendly Community

"A dementia-friendly community is a city, town or village where people with dementia are understood, respected and supported....Dementia-friendly communities are vital in helping people live well with dementia and remain a part of their community." (Alzheimer's UK)

In East Lindsey we have a network of individuals and organisations who are working together to improve things for people living with dementia. The priorities of the East Lindsey Dementia Friendly Community are to:

  1. Ensure that information relating to dementia is available and shared effectively.
  2. Improve the support, and access to support, for people living with dementia and their carers
  3. Increase training and awareness about living with dementia across sectors and in the community.
  4. Organise a range of activities locally, including ones for people living with dementia and ones to raise awareness.

We have four dementia cafe's in East Lindsey and a number of other social groups that are dementia friendly
