Councillors have to agree to follow a Code of Conduct to ensure high standards in the way they undertake their duties. Training on the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards is undertaken upon Election to Office.
East Lindsey District Council has adopted this code setting out the expected behaviours required of its Members whether elected or co-opted. The Council is under a duty to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by both elected and co-opted members of the Council. It is the personal responsibility of each Councillor to comply with the code and seek advice from the Monitoring Officer in cases of doubt that may arise in respect of such compliance.
