Background for the Local Plan

The Local Plan will guide growth and development in East Lindsey up to 2031.

EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL LOCAL PLAN SUBMISSIONS MODIFICATIONS DRAFT

East Lindsey District Council produced the Submissions Modifications Draft Version of its Local Plan.

The Local Plan is made up of two main documents:

The Core Strategy which sets out the vision for the District along with the strategy for growth and key strategic priorities.

Consultation on the draft Landscape Character Assessment in early 2009.
We have undertaken a number of retail studies in the district. These assess things such as shopping trends and future shopping needs.
National Planning Policy can be found in the National Planning Policy Framework published by the Government in March 2012.
The Local Plan (LP) is the national system for spatial planning in England. It was previously called the Local Development Framework (LDF) but the name has now reverted back to Local Plan.
Shoreline Management Plans (SMP) are prepared by a number of organisations, including the Environment Agency and us.
The information below represents the key evidence base which supports the Local Plan. Additional Supporting documents are listed within the Local Plan under the Evidence section of each chapter and these can be supplied upon request.
The East Lindsey Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State on 18th April 2017 for examination.
