Environmental Health

Our Environmental Health service is a branch of Public Health and is concerned with all aspects of the natural and built environment that may impact upon human health and well being.

We are responsible for carrying out measures for the protection of public health, including administering and enforcing legislation related to Environmental Health and providing support to deal with Food Safety, Environmental Protection and Nuisance and Health and Safety.

We are committed to ensuring that food and drink intended for human consumption, which is produced, stored, distributed, handled or consumed within the District is without risk to the health or safety of the consumer.
We inspect workplaces, investigate accidents and complaints and promotes health and safety in the workplace including welfare of employees and the safeguarding of others, principally the public, who may be exposed to risks from work activities, taking enforcement action when necessary.
East Lindsey District Council's Environmental Protection (EP) Team investigate and take necessary action to protect people and the environmental from pollution and certain statutory nuisance.
