Healthcare Waste

We need to know if your household generates healthcare associated waste. Please contact us and we will help you to dispose of these items correctly. Larger black wheeled bins are available if required for those householders who produce healthcare associated waste. Please see Additional/Larger Wheeled Bins page for more information  Additional/Larger Wheeled Bins*.

Healthcare associated waste is to be placed in your black waste bin and will be collected on the normal refuse collection day, according to your collection calendar.

Please make sure the wheelie bin is presented for collection by 5:30am.

If you receive an assisted collection your waste will be collected from the usual point.

Healthcare Waste

We will collect healthcare waste. Please contact us and we will advise you how to dispose of these items correctly.

Needles (Sharps)

Please try to take your sharps to your local GP for disposal prior to contacting us.

If your GP will not take your sharps, please contact us when you have three or more boxes to collect. If you are unlikely to fill three boxes, contact us when you have finished your treatment and we will collect them.

Sharps must always be presented in sealed boxes.

Clinical Waste

Clinical waste such as nappies, incontinence pads and sanitary items can be wrapped and put in your black bin.

Hazardous Clinical Waste

We do not collect hazardous clinical waste such as blood products, human tissue or bodily fluids.

If you produce this type of waste you must contact your local GP for disposal advice.
