Current Councillor Vacancies

Where a vacancy occurs on a Town/Parish Council within six months before the day on which the councillor whose office is vacant would regularly have retired, an election shall not be held and the vacancy will be filled at the next ordinary election of councillors on Thursday 6 May 2027.  The Town/Parish Council may choose to fill the vacancy for the period until the election.

Request to hold an Election

If a request for an election to fill a vacancy is made (by completing the form below) to the Returning Officer by TEN valid registered electors for the Parish/Parish Ward, (by providing name, address and signature of each elector), an election will be held to fill the vacancy; otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
