Worried about losing your home?
Whether you rent a property, own a property or live with relatives we may be able to help
If you are faced with the possibility of losing your home please complete a self referral to notify us urgently. We may be able to prevent this from happening or find you somewhere else to live. The Housing Advice Team aim to prevent people becoming homeless by providing advice and assistance to help find a solution to housing problems. We can:
- Tell you about your housing rights
- Negotiate with landlords
- Advise if you are having problems relating to your mortgage
- Help to find and secure accommodation in the private sector
- Assist if affected by domestic abuse
- Report below standard properties
- Advise about applying for Social Housing
- Advise about maximising income
- Refer to debt advice
- Refer to other agencies who may be able to help
If we are unable to help you keep your home or find alternative accommodation, a homelessness interview will be carried out. This helps us assess your circumstances and needs and establish how we can help you further.
