Planning Fees

We charge a fee for dealing with most types of planning applications.

Central government set the fees and these can change every year. You can download a list of the current fees and some helpful guidance below.

Our validation team will also give you advice on planning application fees.

 

Planning Application Fee Increase

Legislative changes have now been confirmed setting out the following coming into effect from 6th December 2023;

  • Planning Application Fees will increase by 25% across the board, with a 35% increase for  applying to major schemes
  • An annual increase of application fees in line with inflation (and capped at 10%), every April, is introduced from 2025
  • A new fee is being introduced for Prior Approval Applications for development by the Crown on a closed defence estate.

These new fees will apply to applications received from 6th December 2023. Any application submitted up to close of business hours on 5th December 2023 will still be accepted under the current fee charges.
