Skegness Neighbourhood Development Plan

On the 5th July 2023 the Council agreed to 'Make' the Horncastle Neighbourhood Plan pursuant to the provisions of section 38(A)(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

The Skegness Neighbourhood Plan Area application was approved on 11th August 2016. The Town Council submitted its plan to the Council in 2022.

The document was publicised for six weeks until 14th April 2022 before being reviewed by an independent examiner. An independent Inspector was appointed in May 2022 to carry out an examination of the Plan to ensure that it met the Basic Conditions and to determine whether the Plan should proceed to referendum. Following the independent examination of the Skegness Neighbourhood Plan, East Lindsey District Council determined that the plan, as modified to incorporate the Examiner's recommendations, should proceed to a Referendum.

The referendum was passed on 18th of May 2023 and with the Council agreeing to 'make' the Skegness Neighbourhood Plan pursuant to the provisions of section 38(A)(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 it now forms part of that authority's Development Plan, meaning that it will be a material consideration when deciding development proposals within the area covered by the Plan.
