Safe at Home Scheme

If the perpetrator does not live with you and you would like help to make your property safer, we may be able to help with security improvements to allow you to remain in your home.

A Police Officer can visit your property and provide our Housing Advice Officer with an inspection report of recommendations.

These may include measures such as:-

  • Window locks

  • Front and back door locks

  • Outdoor lighting

(Please note that you may need to contribute towards some of the costs of these works)

We also have Safe At Home Scheme equipment that you may be entitled to such as:-

  • Fire extinguishers/fire blanket

  • Window alerts

  • Door chain and bolt

  • Quick lock

  • Door chime intercom

  • Handheld personal alarm

  • Segment timer (can be used to automatically switch electrical equipment and lights on and off)
