Community Led Housing

We have funding available to help local communities deliver Community Led Housing

What is Community Led Housing?

In 2016 we were awarded £2,250,723 for Community Led Housing in East Lindsey.

Community Led Housing is housing provided for the benefit of the local community. Properties will generally be affordable rent, low-cost home ownership or shared ownership. These properties must be affordable and can be owned by the community, Local Authority or a Housing Association.

We have a Community Led Housing Facilitator who can provide advice, guidance and assistance to the community to bring forward Community Led Housing schemes. We can help provide funding towards start-up costs involved with setting up a Community Led scheme and we can also provide grants or loans towards the cost of the development.

Working Groups

We will involve the community in every step of the way by setting up working groups. These groups will help decide what property types and tenure are needed to meet the needs of the local people. They will also agree the location and number of the properties and be involved in deciding on who will benefit from the properties.

Identifying a location

If you think Community Led Housing is needed in your area or are aware of a piece of land which may be suitable, we want to hear from you. The land does not need to be a huge site, possibly large enough to accommodate between 2 and 10 properties.

Completed Schemes

Over the past few years, we have successfully completed Community Led Housing schemes in the following settlements:

Sutton On Sea, New Bolingbroke, Tattershall, North Somercotes and Grimoldby

Current Schemes

We are currently working with Tattershall with the aim of delivering another Community Led Housing scheme in their village.  We are also currently looking at other pipeline projects in East Lindsey.
