Councillors

There are 55 District Councillors. Find details of your ward Councillor here.
The Chairman is a civic role and is similar to a Mayor in that the Chairman of the Council is the first representative of the District.
The Executive Board is the principal decision making body of the Council. The Leader of the Council is Chairman of the Executive Board.

Each of our 55 Councillors receive a basic allowance to reflect the work that they do to represent their constituents. Some can also claim for special responsibilities.

Councillors have to agree to follow a Code of Conduct to ensure high standards in the way they undertake their duties. Training on the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards is undertaken upon Election to Office.
East Lindsey District Council has adopted this code setting out the expected behaviours required of its Members whether elected or co-opted. The Council is under a duty to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by both elected and co-opted members of the Council. It is the personal responsibility of each Councillor to comply with the code and seek advice from the Monitoring Officer in cases of doubt that may arise in respect of such compliance.
