Registering a Food Business

If you are setting up a new business or are a new proprietor of an existing business, you must complete and return a registration form at least 28 days before the business is due to open.

With certain limited exceptions, all food premises are legally required to register with their local authority.

Failure to register is an offence that carries up to a £400 fine. Registration is free and it allows us to make contact with new food businesses and to keep accurate records of how many and what type of businesses there are.

If you are thinking of starting or taking over a food business, then contact us or download the registration form. Once downloaded you can complete the form and save it to your computer. You can either print the completed form and post it to us or you can attach the completed form to an e-mail and send it to commercial.team@e-lindsey.gov.uk

Further information on starting a food business is provided by the Food Standards Agency.
