Pool Testing

We carry out routine testing of swimming pool water quality and we offer advice and guidance to you.

There are in excess of 20 premises within East Lindsey which offer swimming facilities to the general public including:

  • Swimming Pools in Leisure Centres, Health Clubs and Holiday Parks.

  • School Swimming Pools.

  • Privately Run Swimming Pools open to the Public.

  • Swimming Pools in Hotels.

  • Paddling Pools operated by us.

The Council carries out ad hoc testing of these premises to check the water in which people swim is of an acceptable microbiological standard. If any problems are found with regard to water quality officers of the Health and Safety section take prompt action to notify the pool operators of the problem and ensure that steps are taken to bring the pool water back to the required standard.

If you are a pool operator you should be carrying out independent microbiological water sampling and submitting to a UKAS accredited laboratory for analysis.

If you would like some advice on the standards which need to be met in terms of microbiological water quality please feel free to contact us. You can also download a copy of the criteria we assess water quality in swimming pools against.
